We have 3 types of Dachshunds affiliated with our rescue program.
HURRICANE IKE UPDATE:
The need in our animal community is great in these times following the destruction of Hurricane Ike. Just as you may be suffering, so are many animals in the communities hardest hit by the hurricane, including several dachshunds. Some of our adopters and fosters have had significant damage to their homes. Our hearts and thoughts go out to all of you affected by this storm.
Other current fosters, while lucky to avoid significant home damage, have lost fences - creating problems for their continued ability to foster rescued doxies. Already the shelters are calling with dachshunds in need of rescue in the wake of Hurricane Ike.
We know that many of you have your own needs right now, but we ask that you consider the needs of the doxies who have been affected by this storm through no fault of their own. Please consider a donation to Dachshund Rescue so that we may take in as many displaced and injured dachshunds as we can. We are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.
