Update from Pickles' Foster Mom:
When I began fostering Miss Pickles, she was very timid and extremely fearful of everyone and everything around her. She has been with me for more than four months now and during that time, I have worked diligently to help to her gain more confidence and be less afraid of her environment. We have made great strides, and as a result, this little gal will flourish with a kind and caring forever family. All she needs is a stable home filled with patience and love and folks who understand the importance of earning her trust. Once you do, I can promise you that it will be well worth your while! Pickles is simply a beautiful Dachshund, both inside and out. She has a gorgeous, shiny long black coat and she is so sweet and loving that she will absolutely need a person who wants to cuddle with her.
She gets along well with her foster siblings, and would love to have other dog buddies to play with. She takes care of her “business” outside on command and she "comes" and "sits" and walks nicely on a leash, but hang on tightly as she would like to go after the silly squirrels outside and give them the "what for." She loves to sit with me on the couch and watch TV in the evenings and she sleeps quietly all night long in a crate with her foster brother, always waking up on the right side of the doggie bed.
Even though she still gets a little nervous around new people and in new situations, whoever adopts and provides Pickles with the forever home she so rightly deserves, will be very lucky to have this loving and beautiful dog to call their own.
From her Spring Fling presentation:
Miss Pickles is one of our long hair girls. Not just the boys get to enjoy all the long-locks attention. She has learned her manners and is looking for a family who would just like to cuddle. She enjoys watching TV in the evening and quietly sleeps and shares her “space” with her foster brother. She is one sweet, beautiful long haired dachshund just looking for her forever family.
