Greta is bonded with Hans Prancer. There are many types of abuse and overfeeding is one of them. Greta weighs TWICE what she should, and will be on the "biggest loser, doxie edition" diet.

Greta has already lost 3 lbs and has the face of a teddy bear. She used the doggie door the first day in my home. She and Hans would be perfect for novice fosters, first time dog owners and families who just want a dog who would adore them.

Update from Foster Mom (12/27/12)

Now for an update on Hans and Greta! They have settled in quite nicely. They only had one accident while they were figuring out where everything was in the house. Now we've gone several days with no accidents. Both have new sweaters since we had this amazing cold front come through, and they seem to like them, which is fabulous. We call them "The Chubbies" since they are so, well, chubby. They both are very good about letting me know when someone is at the door - no one will ever sneak into our house, that's for sure!

Greta prefers to be right next to me when I am sitting on the couch. Hans is a little more laid back and will sleep in a dog bed as long as it is close by. When I get up to go anywhere, he jumps right up and follows along. Both pups love the rest of my pack (I have 4 other dogs), and cuddle with them all day and all night long. At night, both the chubbies and my little teeny weenies curl up in the dog bed under the blankets next to my bed. Sometimes they even get to sleep in bed with us, when it is really cold. (6 dogs in a bed is really warm, but very cramped!) Greta has this cute little delicate snore when she sleeps. It's absolutely adorable!

We have been going on several walks each day to build up their stamina and lose some weight. Fish oil supplements keep their coats shiny and healthy. They love their weight management food, but they always wish there was more. These gentle giants have really been a wonderful addition to my pack, but they sure would love to find their forever home.
