Contact DROHWe do not own or operate an animal shelter. All our dogs are in foster care all over the city of Houston. If you are interested in meeting one of the dogs for adoption or fostering, please fill out a Foster or Adoption application. It is the policy of Dachshund Rescue of Houston to focus primarily on rescuing dachshunds who would otherwise be euthanized at shelters. As a result, the chances of DRoH taking an owner-surrendered pet are not good because we just do not have the room. Please visit our Surrendering Your Dachshund page to learn of options should you find yourself in the position of needing to surrender your dog. If you have found a stray or abandoned dachshund, please contact the Houston SPCA, BARC, or other local animal shelter as we cannot legally pick up stray dogs. They will contact us if they have dachshunds they can't adopt out. If you don't want to turn a stray dog into a shelter, please attempt to locate the owner by posting flyers and having the dog scanned for a microchip. Should you have problems using this form, please email us at adoptions@dachshundrescueofhouston.org. |
