When they were puppies...

Doc
About Doc...He is such a love! I am so thankful to have him in my life. Doc and I love to lay around on the couch on Sunday afternoons and watch movies. He enjoys going to the dog park, but he hasn't quite yet figured out those ponds! Doc is just the cutest, sweetest, best bow-legged boy there ever was!

Grumpy, now known as Little Bit
Little Bit was the last of the Seven Dwarves to get adopted. She is on Dachshund Rescue of Houston's forever foster list because she is so attached to her foster mom.
|
Dopey, now known as Roscoe
Although we have renamed Dopey to Roscoe, he is still the same sweet puppy. The other dog is our mini Beauty, his constant companion.
|
Sneezy, now known as Zeke
Sneezy is now called Zeke. He was adopted by Susan, Dave and Jonathan Miller and the other dog in the family, Buffy. Zeke usually can be found lounging on a lawn chair by the pool during the day and napping on the couch at night. When he isn't relaxing Zeke is very active and plays with Buffy or with his toys. Squeaky toys don't squeak for long with Zeke around. He likes to hunt geckos, but, thankfully, he is usually unsuccessful.

Happy
Happy came to her forever home on April 13, 2003. She was very timid and shy for the first few days. When she finally decided this would really be a great place to live, she allowed her forever mom to pet her. She taught her "brother" Matisse that things would be changing in the pecking order. Happy became the dominant diva within about 2 weeks. She also had to inform her new brother, Rusty, who's the boss. Happy spends her days chasing her brothers up and down the ramp in the bedroom, begging for treats and barking at anything that might harm her forever mom. She loves wearing new outfits and short walks in the neighborhood. She prefers the Astros games over the Texans games and her favorite TV show is Desperate Housewives. We love her very much and are very glad she is in her forever home with us.

Sleepy, now known as Snickers
Snickers (short for Snickerdoodle...because she's sweet like a cookie) was adopted into a family that loves to play dog sports. She gets along great with her big sister Casey, and Casey has taught her to play flyball. Unfortunately, the bigger dogs playing flyball scare her a little too much, so she doesn't get to compete with the other dogs much, but likes to go to practice with her sister. Snickers made herself right at home from her first day here. She lets Casey be the boss, but lets all the foster dogs that have lived with us know that she is second in command. She loves to play fetch and wrestle with the other dogs. Her favorite spot is in the sun or on a big pile of pillows. Most of the time she is very well behaved, and will do anything for a cookie. Of course.

Bashful, now known as Annabelle
Annabelle Elizabeth Peterson (AKA AnnaBoo, Boo, Boolicious and Girl!) has been a great addition to our home. She enjoys sleeping in the bed with us at night, along with her best friend Norman Winchester. Annabelle spends her days playing in the backyard and guarding the house. She spends hours looking out the front window, watching the neighborhood and trying to get to the cats outside. She doesn't know what she would do with the cat, but that doesn't stop her from trying. There are times when Anne starts a Wienie Stampede through the house, barking and running as fast as possible through the living room and kitchen. She and Norman wrestle and fight with each other, as brothers and sisters do. She spends time each day curled up on the couch napping, recuperating from guarding the house and playing. Annabelle's favorite human pet is our 6 year-old daughter, Megan. They enjoy playing on the floor and laying on the couch. She isn't too sure of our 9 month-old son, who is starting to walk. Annabelle keeps a wary eye on him, but is taking it all in stride. During the summer Annabelle likes to swim, and in the winter loves to wear her sweater in the cold weather. We have tried to take her with us to pick up Megan at school, but she spends too much time growling at the other people in protection of us. It's best to let her stay home to greet Megan when she gets back from school. We were very lucky the day Annabelle was brought to our house. She is the perfect companion for our family and we look forward to many great years of friendship with her.
